Chef Yemi Durojaiye

From an early age, Yemi developed a deep connection with food while growing up as a pastor’s child, where cooking for the steady stream of visitors and large gatherings became second nature. This early immersion laid the foundation for a lifelong passion for hospitality and culinary excellence. In school, her remarkable talent for creating authentic, delicious dishes in food and nutrition classes left a lasting impression on her teachers, who saw her potential in the culinary world. Although Yemi went on to study journalism, her love for cooking remained, and she continued to amaze those around her with her seriously delicious and beautifully crafted dishes.

Balancing roles as an NHS professional, pursuing two master’s degrees, and raising four children, Yemi finds relaxation and fulfilment in the kitchen. Food is not only a creative outlet but also a form of ministry and community engagement, seamlessly blending into a life filled with other interests as a singer/songwriter, hosting concerts, ministerial involvement and international food projects.

Leveraging her healthcare management background and culinary skills, she has created a brand known for pushing the boundaries of Nigerian/West African-inspired cuisine with fresh flavours and unforgettable presentation.

Over the years, Yemyes! food has crossed international borders, reaching tables in places like Dubai, the USA, Canada, Nigeria, Portugal, Ireland and beyond. From weddings and conferences to some of the UK’s largest festivals and concerts, Yemi’s culinary creations have become a staple in diverse, vibrant settings.

Through international food projects, media features like CLOJ, and her role in the ministry, she has used her talent to unite people through food. For Yemi, food is more than a passion—it’s a creative outlet, a ministry, and a way to bring joy to her clients and communities.
